I suggest you visit the help forum. You can find some user guidelines there that should be useful.
The forums aren't very hard to use. Looks like you already got a hang of how to create threads. What's important is to know all the different forum sections. That way you can develop a sense of where your thread belongs before you post.
As for posting comments, here are a couple rules of thumb:
·Make sure your post is relevant.
·Don't make two posts in a row. Once you comment, you should let someone else say something before you comment again. If you feel like you need to add something, or correct a typo, you can Edit your post instead of making a new one.
(I cannot stress that enough.)

Just watch the misc forum for a little while, that's where the active ones especially are. Things can get crazy.
