Remise was a pretty well known scientist, and quite intelligent as well, but was always overshadowed by Professor Yewing. Remise hated Yewing. He one time was working with the guy in college when Yewing’s programming for a robot went haywire and caused Remise to lose both arms, and from then on he hated the guy. They would both work on the same thing, but Yewing would always be done before Remise. And he was always the laughing stalk when his inventions didn’t do anything at all, or overall just were useless to some people. He had had it.

One day, while Remise was working in his lab, his index finger on his robotic arm broke. Of course he always had replacements, so he just slipped another one on and put the broken digit in his pocket to fix later. This time, Remise didn’t want to stop working on his experiment, as he was sure Yewing had no idea what it was he was working on. It was an invention that could break the barrier between reality, and a place he called “The 4th wall” which was an alternate reality where snapping out of chains or getting out of a Torture chamber was easy. Gravity was non existent, and the point between reality, and dreams could be broken. The device was basically a small box with a button, that, when pressed, would open up a portal to the 4th wall. Little did Remise know, Yewing had already found out...

“Boss!” said a worker in Yewing’s factory, looking for him to give him an important message. “What is it!? I have little time to waste!” Yewing responded in a harsh voice he always used when talking to his workers. “Remise is almost completed the 4th wall device! He only needs a few more pieces to finish it and then show it off to the world!”. Yewing didn’t know how to respond to this, so he just went back to his office to think. “That stupid pile of carbohydrates! If he finishes that machine before I can take his plans from him and build it myself, he’ll be able to unveil me for who I am. I CAN’T HAVE THAT BE!!” Yewing was furious. He knew that you could travel through time in the 4th wall, and then Remise could show everyone what he had done to him in college. Yewing had purposely programmed the robot to hurt Remise. He wasn’t even really a human anyway. He was a Nimphelhoidey Class-C. Very similar to humans, but with MUCH lower intelligence. He used other intelligent people to get where he was, and he wasn’t about to have Remise take it away from him. “Maybe, I’ll let him finish the device, then capture him, and take the device for myself!” was what went through Yewing’s mind almost immediately. Yewing went up to the worker and asked “What parts did he need for the device?” ‘Just a transistor and some uranium.”. Yewing had brewed up the perfect plot...

Remise had just gotten back to his lab with the parts he needed for his device, and was just putting on the finishing touches on his device when suddenly Yewing jumped through the roof with his body guards. “What the...!?” Remise said immediately as he pulled out his gun. “Hey, I may have lost my arms to you, but that doesn’t mean I can’t shoot a gun. Get out of my lab... NOW.” Remise said with a stern voice as he slipped the 4th wall device into his back pocket. “Try me. You know you won’t be able to.” Yewing taunted back. Remise slowly lowered his arm and dropped the gun. “What do you want from me anyway, Yewing? I know what you did to me was not an “Accident” anyway, and if you just came here to...” but Remise stopped as soon as Yewing pulled out two guns. “You know what I’m looking for, now get in the bag and give me the 4th wall device!” Yewing said calmly as he could with his last words “... or I WILL make your life miserable personally.”. “I don’t want to give up. I won’t give up.” Remise couldn’t stop now. “You think you can stop me, but no. Remise, you have failed miserably, and you know that you will not be able to succeed this time, either. Now give me the 4th wall device!” Yewing was right. Remise didn’t have the courage to do any harm to Yewing. Remise was beat. He got into the bag and gave Yewing the 4th wall device. He was worried about what would happen next, but only time could tell.

Yewing threw the bag on the floor in an empty room in his lab and let Remise out. “Well, you brought me to your lab. Bravo, Mr. Macho Wing. What next, just go the police office and drop me off there so I can accuse you of your crimes?” Remise taunted. “SHUT UP!” Yewing yelled in fury of the taunting. “Now I’m going to make this clear. I am going to put a straight jacket on you, then chain you to a metal chair, then send you in the 4th wall. Sound fun?” Yewing yelled at Remise. Remise just stared at him with a blank expression and nodded. “OK, now look, cause I’m gonna be nice, I’m also going to disable your robotic arms. And of course, how about I spill this water on the left arm?” Yewing laughed at Remise. “I really don’t care anymore. Just get it over with, Yewing.” Remise said as calmly as possible. Yewing got the water, spilt it on the left arm, got his other workers to chain him to the chair, then was preparing the 4th wall device. Remise was dead. He knew it. It would take a miracle to save him now. Yewing pulled him over and threw him in. Yewing yelled before Remise disappeared, “Have Fun, insignificant pile of carbohydrates!”.

Remise actually liked what he saw, though. It was quite calming to be here. Remise wiggled in his chair to escape, but to no avail. He suddenly noticed that a small 9 Volt battery fell out of his pocket. He thought to himself, ‘If I can get that battery close enough to my arm, I can power it again!’. He started nudging the chair closer to the battery, and contact! He heard the motors moving and quickly trapped the battery in the compartment. Now, he used the powerful arm to break the straightjacket, and because Yewing didn’t but the chains on tightly, he slipped out of the chair. Now, he had to find the point in the 4th wall where he was thrown in. He knew that wherever the device was used would create a metal gate that could be re-activated. While floating around, he tried to survey the damage to his left arm. It was damaged severely and could not function properly. He continued on the task at hand and came to the metal gate where Yewing threw him in. Now, he just had to wait for Yewing to activate the device at the showing that he was about to do.

Yewing was gloating at the success he had in stealing the device, but he was uncertain if Remise would be able to escape. After all, Remise could have put a fail safe in the device. He decided before he showed it to the world, he would reprogram it so Remise wouldn’t be able to access the control panel on the gate in the 4th wall. He was happy he spied on Remise, or else he wouldn’t know most of this stuff. Yewing continued get the preparations ready to show the device…

Remise was just floating by the gate when suddenly, the control panel had a metal plate soldered on top of it. “Damn it.” he said in anger. He heard the sound that notified him that Yewing activated the device at the showing. He couldn’t activate this gate without access to the control panel. Again, he thought he had been beat, then he remembered... “The broken digit!” he said. He remembered the broken digit had a small laser inside, and even though in the real world it was just a laser pointer, here, it could be a weapon of mass destruction. But, it was broken, so the pointer wouldn’t work, he realised. He thought for a while then had a risky idea, he thought of slipping it on and off to shock the insides to work temporarily. It could either work, or he could cause it to explode. He decided to take the risk. He slipped it on at least 50 times but, it worked! He melted the metal on the panel and started to activate the gate…

Yewing was talking through the microphone at the stage he was showing the device at. “So with this amazing technology, you can travel to another dimension called the 4th wall! Of course, the details are complicated, and It’s under a patten...t…” but he was stopped by the sound coming from the device. Remise fell out of the portal and got up. Yewing was baffled. “But, But ,But…. how!?”. Remise said in return “Don’t underestimate the power of the 4th wall.” is all he said in return. Yewing ran up and was about to tackle him, and as Remise tried to put his hands up to defend himself, he found he couldn’t. He forgot that what may be true in the 4th wall is not always true in real life, and his arm couldn’t be powered by a measly 9 Volt in real life. Yewing tackled him, and started punching and hurting him, but as soon as a few police officers in the crowd that were watching saw what was happening, they ran and pulled Yewing away from Remise. As soon as they asked Remise what happened, he told them what Yewing did to him recently. Eventually, Yewing was convicted of Assault, kidnapping, and was sentenced to a Life sentence. Remise from then on was happy, and was able to take full credit for his inventions.
