Uh, you mean Nintendo vs Sony, right? (handhelds only)

DS was superior in the same way the 3DS is: Nintendo has games. Games that people want to play. Sony has movies and music and some niche games, but so does anything from Crapple. Sony makes good machine specs, but fails with games and controls, in general, while Nintendo makes machines with bad specs, but something new and creative in terms of controls, and the best games ever. I'd rather play MKDS than any Sony exclusive ever. Nintendo wins in my opinion.

And MKDS was better than MK7.

↑ No. And the PSP is better than the original DS.
Are you retro?

Actually, MKDS was a LOT better than MK7. I played MKDS for around five years, only selling it cos I was in a financial struggle. I got bored enough to sell MK7 after less than a month. No single-player VS. Mode and lack of false item boxes actually DID kill MK for me. Speaking of which, does 8 have a single player VS. Mode?

MK7 felt like an incomplete game next to MKDS. It felt like a Demo.

For anyone confused, when we say MK, we mean Mario Kart, not Mortal Kombat... Should've specified earlier.

But yeah, that's how I feel about a lot of recent Nintendo games. Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, and Mario Kart 7 especially.

No, it's not nostalgia. I didn't like like MK7 because of the lack of content. No additional modes to unlock things, and hardly anything to unlock anyway. A lot less than you'd expect, actually. You could play the MKDS missions for months, but you wouldn't be satisfied unless you absolutely aced the mission and got 3 golden stars. MK7 didn't have that. Instead, it messed with a mode that didn't have anything wrong with it in the first place and made it worse. Of course, I'm talking about Balloon Battle. The two types of Balloon Battle feel like entirely new modes, and I'm not saying that MK7's is bad, but I'm just not as fond of it as the DS version's. It changed the game's original objective from surviving to just flat out going on a rampage and hitting everything in site, pissing people the hell off in the process. Again, I don't hate it, I actually like it. However, seeing as to how these two versions of Balloon Battle are different enough, I see no reason why Nintendo didn't include both in the game, which would have alleviated some of my negative feelings toward the game regarding lack of content. It would have been nice to be able to choose between "stock" and "time" in balloon battle.

Despite my criticism, we cannot deny that the one thing that MK7's got going for itself is its improved online capabilities and that it looks totally badass.

@Robbieiscool I agree about the PSP and about MK7.
