Tekken 3D Prime Edition Review
Crush42 (2014-08-03 07:20:29)Two little gripes:
Awesome visuals! Amazing controls! Mind-blowing sound! Absurd amount of content! Incredible game overall! 7.5/10.
Also, you praised the game for extensive content, and then gave it a negative mark at the end for 'little content,' so...
Other than that, a very good review.

pikarceus (2014-08-04 01:18:49)Played it, it's okay. Movie sucks and it hurt the quality of the game because it took up so much cartridge space. Dead or Alive is still the best 3DS fighter, imo.
carlos11 (2014-08-06 06:52:46)So the game got screwed over by a crappy movie that took up space and nobody liked? Coolio.

Boy, it's been a while since my last review. This time I'm reviewing Tekken 3D Prime Edition! Here we go!
Tekken 3D Prime Edition is a fighting game for our beloved 3DS. One of few fighting games made for it. And also a rare game to appear on a Nintendo device, since it's mostly appears on PS consoles. Anyway, is it worth the game? Let's find out!
I'm gonna change my order of review. So I'm gonna start by the order when we play a game. So when we pick up a game, the first thing we see is the game itself, then so on in that order. Got it? (If you don't get it, just keep reading and you'll understand as you read.)
VISUALS
The graphics in this game are amazing for a 3DS game. The texture is so smooth and detailed. The character models look amazing! And a most importantly, the game runs 60fps very smoothly in 2D and even 3D! And speaking about 3D, the game looks even better in 3D! You can see how each character and object is its own model, making the 3D look dynamic and detailed.
So overall, amazing visuals!
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay is very simple. Your usual controls and combos, but what makes this version unique is the touch controls. You have four more buttons on the touch screen for quick shotcut combos just by tapping it. And what's even cool, you can customize it if you don't like the combos that's set by default.
So overall, great controls!
SOUND
Sound in this game are simple, yet, amazing to listen. Very detailed sounds on puches, falls, or falling between stages. The voice acting in the game are also amazing. It suits their characters and personality very well. And music is ok. Some very forgetable tunes and melody, but great ammount of music.
Overall, great sounds!
CONTENT
This game had less content than I thought. You have 40 playable characters, (42 if you count Panda, and female Mokejin) You have the main game, (which it resembles to the arcade version.) special battles in which you defeat between 5-100 opponents within a single life bar, StreetPass features, (I'll go into detail later)Local and online multiplayer, and few others.
You can unlock Tekken cards, which is basically lots of artwork of Tekken characters and its past games.
The StreetPass feature is quite cool. You can unlock even more cards by trading your cards via StreetPass. It's a nice touch and a cool way to unlock your cards faster. Unlock more than 800 cards!
And as your usual practice mode. Nothing special, but gives more time to see those amazing visuals in 3D!
And of course costume swaps and color changes. A great verity of them.
Overall, great ammount of content.
And a nice little bonus, you can watch the Tekken Blood Vengance movie in 3D! (Sadly, that's my first 3D movie to see! Lol) It has great audio, and great quality for the 3DS' small screen. (At least to me, since I still haven't upgreaded to an XL.) Overall, it's a great movie, but I won't review it since this isn't about it.
REPLAY
Replay value just depends on your taste of fighting games. If you love it, you can play the online and local multiplayer modes, unlock all cards by fighting even more and unlock costumes and color swaps, try to beat the 100 opponent challenge, or practice your skills to become a better fighter! But for me personally, I really played it a lot and kept me busy for weeks.
Overall, great ammount of replay.
CONCLUSION
So overall, great game for a 3DS! Amazing visuals, great ammount of content, and replay value.
+Amzing visuals!
+Touch controls
+StreetPass
-Little content
SCORE
7.5
Well, that's the end of the review! Hope you guys enjoyed it, and get the game when you can. I got mine as a Christmas gift from a friend at school. And someday, you can challenge me.
