Hello, gaming enthusiasts! I thought I'd start a discussion for the free game development engine Unity.

Yeah, they're going through their transition phase to the apparently "better" Unity 5.

I had Unity 3D and was following a tutorial but when I tried making a Javascript document it told me to download all these Windows Add-ons so I quit...

Ha Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Game Maker: Studio is better.

Nah, Cr1tty-boy. You wouldn't know a good game engine if it hit you in the face.

It's quite user-friendly, and the asset store is nice for help sometimes. @Sammii

Unity 3D is more advanced and more made for a studio making a serious game with 3D Graphics (Although you can make a 2D game too) While Gamemaker is a good way to learn and make projects without hours of coding and making models. That is not to say that Gamemaker is not good for making advanced/great games just look at Spelunky.

Game Maker: Studio has plenty of coding. They also have set variables for you to use to so you don't have to have the trouble of making them yourself.
But I don't recommend using the pre-made ones,
The variable gravity when you jump makes you look like your on the moon.
