So, let me get this straight.

>Registration remained open for 3 and a half years
>a spammer enters the site spamming like there's no tomorrow
>registration gets disabled
>a month later
>rob decides to enable it again
>spammer spams once again
>rob disables it once again

During those time periods, many wanted registration enabled. At the same time, those were the same users complaining that Registration should be disabled.

What's your opinion on all these complaints?
If Rob were to enable it once again, would you throw a fit and start spamming his inbox with " IS WRONG WITH U MAN?? WHY U ENABLED IT AGAIN U STUPID .................................................... MOTHERF........................................"?

I'm not sure why it even was disabled in the first place. All you have to do is require email verification and 90% of the alts would go down.

Exactly. People are always saying "What if people don't have emails?
Well then, they gotta go make a ing email! If you have a phone, it's much easier! If you don't, try to encourage your parents to let you and this shall be your excuse;

With some moms:

Hey mom, umm.. Can I get a em--

Mom: No!

You: But..

Mom: I said no! No buts!

With some dads:

You: Hey Dad, I was wondering, can I

Dad: Yes!

You: I wasn't finished.

Dad: Oh, keep going.

You: Can I get an email? I would like to use your phone #.

Dad: Oh, that's not a problem.

Only a few few emails don't really require phone #s anyway. Google will require a phone number depending on where you are accessing it from. : p

ROB: USE AN EMAIL VERIFICATION SYSTEM

As the latter stated, e-mail verfication and maybe CAPTCHAs can destroy the spamming.

Okay theres a simple fix


Require an email and if the email is already in mySQL database say that it is already registered...




And also log IP for 72 hours before allowing to create a new account

Let's leave that 72 hours for a new account thing out. If these spammers are just bored enough, they'll have the chat spammed in weeks.
