PapaRoach(2015-01-20 03:51:22)Okay, I've noticed the forum going down hill lately. And for legitimate reasons. So here's some tips, guide lines, and rules to role-playing here.
Rules:
1) This isn't the RP Chat. Grammar is a must have, along with spelling. It's a shame that people have lowered their rp posts to "LOL" or an emoticon.
2) Cybering. No. Never. Nope. If you are, use the Private messages. This is an obvious one.
3) Details. Give at least SOME details. Instead of, "Jane followed Spot." Try, "Jane quietly snuck through the underbrush after a dark, short furred, lab. She had decided to dub the lab, Spot, due to the white patch on his eye."
See? Much better.
4) If your creating an rp give an original plot with specific details. Dont just say, Fantasy/Romamce/Highschool RP. First off, no ones going to join that crap. Second, no details, no originality. If you want to see what details look like, check out Operation D.R.E.A.M. or something such.
5) Forms. They are a must have. On my profile I have a very thorough form for my O.C.s, but they dont need to be that specific. I mainly see this:
Name:
Age:
Species:
Other:
Really? Its almost like you dont care. Try more specific form instead:
Full Given Name:
Age:
Appearance:
Species:
Short bio:
Pets?:
Any extra information?:
Much more nicer and neater.
Tips:
Try and come up with an original idea and amazing title.
The more the merrier!
The more details the better. Whether you be posting a new thread or it's your post in the roleplay.
Making a character is tough with out imagination! I see lots if nekos and werewolves. What's up with that? Here's a made up character I'm making up as I type this,
Princess Delta of the Red star realm.
Princess Delta is a breed of cow from the elvish race and is next in line for the throne. She often is sassy and loves hay.
Settings are also tough. Mash it up, like instead of just woods take some different woods you know and mash them up!
Thats all I can think of right now. I'll add on later...
