First thing, I got it early with MM3DSE, a case and a Skull Kid figure.

Alright, now it's review time!
The 3D has been greatly improved. You don't need to hold it in a specific area anymore as it tracks your eye. It works really well and it's a big improvement over the old 3D, which would blur all the time. Now I actually want to play games in 3D because it actually works. thank you for doing something that the first model should have done nintendo

It has a better CPU, meaning that you won't have a massive, grey beard by the time SSB3DS finally loads. It loads about twice as fast, which is nice. eShop downloads also feel faster.

Scanning an Amiibo is very quick, on par with the Wii U, actually. The only game that supports it right now is Super Smash Bros for 3DS, and you should probably know about that by now. Xenoblade 3D will also be compatible with Amiibo. The Amiibo support in that game is just making collecting things a little easier, so that's no big deal.

The small nub (tagged as a c-stick) is the other feature included in this update that the 3DS needed from the start. It makes the controls in Smash Bros slightly easier and works with all the games that support the circle pad pro. It makes controling the camera easier in Majora's Mask 3D and MH4U, too. I haven't really used the two extra shoulder buttons, so I can't really talk about them much.

A few extras are that it feels a bit lighter and that the battery life has been boosted just a little... It also seems a little bit taller than the 3DS XL. Never owned one, though.

One problem is that switching the Micro SD card is going to be an absolute pain in the ass, as it requires a Philips size 0 screwdriver to remove the back panel to get to it. It comes with a 4GB MSD.

Overall, I rate the New 3DS XL 9/10
+Extra buttons for easier controls
+More processing power
+Massively improved 3D

-MicroSD card switching is a pain
-Might just be me, but the speakerss quality is slightly lower. Just slightly.
-The name is bad

Should you upgrade? You don't have to upgrade it, but if you don't have a 3DS already, get the New 3DS/XL.

I do not plan on upgradng until they bring the regular sized New 3DS over to the States. If they don't, then I'll just keep using my "old" 3DS, and keep Xenoblade Chronicles 3D in mint condition.
