As for OP, forums are a place to discuss and have fun like the chats. Only thing is is that the forums have better means of evidence than chats. We can discuss various topics and give you an opinion (if you're not a total fag to us, we might actually like to see what you think) while chats force you into a conversation and can be hard to change. Of course you got to follow the topic of the thread (even though that is redundant as of now) so it goes smoothly. Chats are not better than forums, nor are the forums better than the chats. It is up to the user's decision which to go to. You are causing unnecessary segregation as many others are. Though you might not realize is that the user has to go to the forums to see this, so your plan halfway failed.

Summary: Don't segregate the two places of this site. Let the user choose where to go. Both chats and forums have their own pros and cons.
