OP is right but if you raised a Japanese person in a different culture they would adapt to that culture so

You're different. They have a different culture than you. There's probably some misunderstanding. Anywhere you go, if you're different, you'll stand out. You'll probably be judged for it. They probably get a ton of people from other races visiting and not knowing anything about their culture and they're probably sick of it. Then again, I've never been there.

Kind of what Sam said, they were raised to their Japanese culture so they're going to stay with it. It probably seems horrible to you, but you're from a different culture and you're going to have different opinions stemming from it.
