I can't pinpoint any one type of movie I like, but my favourites are probably Interstellar and The Phantom Of The Opera (the 2004 Joel Schumacher one with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum).

Good if you like Bowie and Sakamoto, or the vocalized version of the theme by David Sylvian.

Saving Private Ryan, because it accurately depicts D-Day (or Operation Overlord, depending on how technical you are). There is so much historical accuracy in this movie, which is why I really like it.
Kinda gory though. That might bother some people.

Crush42 (2015-11-08 22:53:00)Has anyone seen In The Mouth Of Madness? It's my favourite horror movie, and is drastically underrated. Directed by John Carpenter (who also created the Halloween franchise as well as the 1980s The Thing) and stars Sam Neill (Jurassic Park).

In this thread we talk about the types of films that we like and what we look for in a film so that we can give each other suggestions.
I'll start off with a few random suggestions:
Pan's Labyrinth for people who like fantasy with politically charged undertones. Good if you like psychological horror that isn't too drawn out and cheesy.
Black Dynamite for people like comedy that satirizes an entire film era. The humor is perfect ranging from slapstick to clever. The way it was filmed is comedic in itself.(This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.)
