Alright. So you all probably get asked this from time to time irl. Most of us have even kind of stated our taste, or at least our favorite bands.

But here's a thread to discuss our tastes in music! You likely don't listen to just one genre, btw.


I listen to a lot of like... punk and alternative, pretty much. My favorite band is twenty øne piløts... Which their genre is .. No one really knows because they're such a hodgepodge of so many genres such as hip-hop, alternative pop, punk, rap, and even slightly screamo. Also there are lots of ukuleles and pianos and drums. We Don't Believe What's On TV has a trumpet... yeah.. But yeah the punk and alternative music is like a huge part of my taste. I'm not gonna list all the bands but yeah.

I also love video game music and chiptune. Chiptune as in, Anamanaguchi and I Fight Dragons and I even like some of those indie Chiptune bands on bandcamp like Slime Girls.

I like video game OST as well, especially The Legend of Zelda. I'm actually listening to some OST from Hyrule Warriors right now... anyways...

Power metal, J-Pop, K-Pop, rock, instrumentals, OSTs, and although I don't generally go out of my way to listen to classic rock (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc.) or opera, I make exceptions for both genres with Aerosmith and Jackie Evancho, respectively.

But really, as long as it isn't country music, mainstream pop (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry or worst of all, Owl City) or rap, I can listen to it without tearing my hair out in agony or bleeding from my ears.

I Fight Dragons is pretty cool Kylie. I don't listen to them much, but I respect it.

I like pretty much every genre other than rap, country, and whiny stuff like 21P. On my own I listen to classical or instrumental, a bit of nerdcore, and occasionally what's published by Monstercat, which I subscribed to to look for that sort of music which I still haven't done after a year of subscribing. I used to listen to some Japanese bands, mostly EGOIST and Cold Seasonal Rain, who's popularity in the American weeaboo society skyrocketed after Tokyo Ghoul. I used to listen to Vocaloid 24/7, but I haven't done that much in almost half a year. It takes up too much time. Now I only seem to be in the mood for that whenever 1st Place posts a new video.
