You can post any type of game though. It can be flash, or for download. Just make sure its free, and its good. I don't like crap games. Also: Don't recommend steam games

VVVVVV (it's not a shooter, but otherwise it fits the bill) and Cave Story would be your best bets. Their base games (last I checked) are free. But if you don't mind paying full price, for a Wii U game, I hear that Devils Third got a reprint in America (finally). It's fun, it's a shooter, and it looks like an XBox 360 game (which, apparently, is retro now. I don't get it, personally, but meh).

VVVVVV and Cave Story, then. Devils Third is fun, but it's not retro or retro-style. If you mean genuine retro games, just say so, and I can make you a list. You can download them for free (although I don't recommend it), they're fun, and made before 64-bit existed, much less became popular.
