I'm thinking about making a new URL for my site, and removing ads. What is the best free and ad-free website host?

There is not really any "free" ones since websites cost money but there are two websites you could try. The first website is Wix.Com you can make a free website,but I'm not sure about the ads. The second is godaddy.Com you still have to pay but it's only a $1 each month. In my opinion Wix.Com is better

From my experience and others, I know for a fact that free services (especially free domains) have horrible limits and that you shouldn't expect sites hosted with parts that are free to allow a whole load of users simultaneously or even trust them when it comes to service up-times.

I could tell you a few stories but that would scare users who are using the services that I would speak of.

It all goes down to one thing: only use free sites or/and domains for sites that are for personal use or for a small group to use.
You can use them to build and start up the site but it's expected for you to move shortly to something paid after it starts to go well as anything can easily go wrong just due to the fact that what you're using is free.

^ as much as it would be good to recommend X10, it has issues most of time. It does allow chats but only if it isn't heavy (there's many ways of making a chat handle many users without having much of a problem). In fact, once I used X10 for a chat application and it worked surprisingly well.

x10 is the best by far for anything. It comes with a ton of features. It's my favorite. Or at least it was a few years ago before I switched to paid hosting.

Why not host it yourself? Ya' know, on your own hardware. Just port forward. All you'd need is a domain name. But those usually cost money. But you still should be able to use your IP until then.

^ I don't know how. I need a free website host that allows the user to upload .html and .php files, and supports PHP/MySQL.
