Youtube copyright
TheIronMadden (2016-04-13 04:25:12)Cr1tiKal (penguinz0) recently got a stike for his Second Life video, which he didn't even upload to YouTube due to the broken copyright system, and he still got screwed over with the preview video. The actual video is on PornHub, but that didn't matter. His channel and videos are still up, but his account is currently disabled.

You won't see me here, but you might find me if you look in the right places.
SpriteMite (2016-04-13 05:13:52)The YouTube copyright system (and the DMCA in general) is just a complete mess.

Cr1tiKaL (2016-04-13 08:44:59)@TheIronMadden Yeah, it's terrible. I believe it was perfectly fine back in 2012.

Gumball (2016-04-13 20:54:39)Don't have ads in the video and you won't get a copyright notice from it.

Crush42 (2016-04-14 03:21:23)^I don't put ads in my videos, but my latest one got a copyright notice anyway, so I call BS.
Luckily, it doesn't seem like anything is happening except a little sticker that says there's copyrighted material in the video (and I don't even know if anybody else can see it), but still.

Not true. Even if you don't have monetization on, you can get a copyright claim and the claimant turns on monetization to make a profit from your video. Happened to me before. (Used royalty-free music that "Omnia Media Corp" claimed despite not owning the song)
