So a couple days ago, I heard things like YouTube is going to die, and most youtubers are screwed and some quitted. I was confused and wants to know why they would say that so when I was researching, I heard that the reason why is because they made new rules on youtube. Here are some that I can remember:
-Can't curse/swear anymore and say sexual things
-Can't talk about political things
-Cant talk about sensitive things like suicide or tragic events
-No drug related
-No violence (I dont think thats a new rule)
I might be wrong but I think I heard that youtubers can't make any money on youtube anymore which I think its something to do with ads on videos.

1. These are for the 'advertiser-friendly' guidelines. You will not get banned over this, only demonitized.
2. This is not new. It has been out for a while (around the beginning of the year).
3. The only difference here is that YouTube creators are being notified about the demonization, having an option to appeal and having an algorithm set to a bot that goes through video metadata such as title, description, tags and maybe (auto-generated) subtitles.
4. This was slightly enforced quite some time ago when creators would not get notified with the monitization status in regards to demonitized videos.

So, really it's just being more enforced and creators have a chance of dealing with it.

Then why the did the popular YouTubers make videos about it saying that they were new rules? I saw a lot of videos of it and most said that its the beginning of the end of Youtube

This is maybe a week or two old, but I would like to discuss this a little bit.

It was all blown way out of proportion. Philip DeFranco made some video over-exaggerating the situation by saying that YouTube was "closing down" his channel. In actuality, YouTube just wants to make it clear to content creators that their content isn't "adveriser friendly." If that's what YouTube wants to do, then that's okay. However, this should be implemented across the board for ALL videos, which I'm very certain that the music videos for many pop/rap artists still have ads across their video. Just look up someone like Nicki Minaj or Katy Perry and see for youself.

From what I've been hearing though, the tags, description and titles are what are triggering the removal of ad revenue from videos. According to h3h3productions and iDubbbzTV, if you remove words like "sexual," "ISIS," and the laundry list of vulgar language, monetization can most likely be returned to the videos without any issue.

The only videos that I have a problem with being demonetized are news videos and PSAs. Boogie2988 has made a handful of videos discussing personal issues like suicide, and discusses how to get help and who to talk to in those situations. Perhaps this is to counteract against users like Keemstar and Scarce, but it'll probably keep people from reporting proper news (not YouTube drama, but news on politics and the world) and from spreading awareness/providing strong messages.

I will also suggest looking up videos form organizations like CNN, NBC, Fox News, etc to see ads on their videos covering ISIS or a celebrity's death. Under Terms of Service, they shouldn't get monetization for that and ads should be removed.

Other than that, content isn't being censored, and if creators want money, they can find other methods. Sell some merchandise, open a Patreon, do sponsorships (and disclose it instead of pulling a ProSyndicate/TMartN), whatever. It might make you seem like a "sellout," but it's still a way to gain money from your "YouTube career." Everyone can still watch people eat cakes made out of hair and people saying stuff like "Goddamn motherin' assholes be banging my wife." It's just that the creators won't get ad revenue from those videos.
