AlexAlmighty (2016-11-14 19:49:01)@carlos12 Yeah. What's even better is some dude actually got a copy of Moon Version early, and the download is already rapidly spreading across the internet.

That's about it.

Bean (2016-11-14 21:33:34)They'll release a few more 3DS titles in 2017 but gradually kill it off. The Wii U was brutally murdered, but the 3DS has a large playerbase they can make a bit more money from.

SMOGamerX (2016-11-15 11:26:37)The 3DS is gonna last longer than the Wii U. Id say the 3DS would last about 3 or 4 years until its dead (but could possibly be less). The Wii U is going to be the dead one first.

Sackacuga (2016-11-17 02:19:47)I think, especially for the 3ds hacking community, the 3ds will kick alive and will until the end of 2017. For non 3ds hacking reasons:
-Yoshi's Wolly World (inb4 just a port)
-DQVIII
-DQX never
-Monster Hunter Double Cross localization
-Monster Hunter Stories localization never basically
And I'm pretty sure there's gonna be great titles along the way in 2017 as well, and I'm not including indie titles.
For the 3ds hacking community:
-Play DS roms from your SD card
-PS1 Retroarch emulator mostly playable (FFVII will probably be 100% playable)
-N64 emulator, though I have tons of doubts
-Probably a bunch of other things I don't wanna list
EDIT: Fantranslation. There's already one in development for Dai Gyakuten Saiban (https://gbatemp.net/threads/project-the-great-ace-attorney-dai-gyakuten-saiban-fan-translation.427572/), basically another AA game that capcom has confirmed they wont localize.
I already have a whole backlog of great 3DS games both new and old so I'll probably keep this thing until late 2018.

AlexAlmighty (2016-11-24 04:48:42)Well, I hope that whenever the next gen DS comes out it's backwards compatible with 3DS titles. And I don't see the 3DS ending soon anyways, it's got a few more years to collect in my eyes.

That's about it.

AlexAlmighty (2016-11-24 22:46:58)Yeah, I heard about them discontinuing the o3DS.

There's something I've been wondering for a minute now.
The Nintendo Switch, the newest next-gen Nintendo console has recently been revealed, as many of you know.
But there's something I don't understand. Is the Switch intended to REPLACE THE DS line completely? I mean, don't get me wrong, the Switch is a pretty awesome looking console, and I'm not doubting it at all. But if this system is intended to replace the DS line, I'm going to be one sad customer.
I'm personally sure that it's intended to replace the Wii U, obviously since they're discontinuing the production. But for a long time I thought the NX ( before it was announced as "Switch" ) was the next-gen Nintendo DS family console.
Just something I'd like to get cleared up.
