Whitesteam's relationship problems and family problems in the clan were getting to her. They upset her and she almost wishes there was a way to giv up. Her traitorous son, Thunderpaw, and the agonizing news that her only kit left was leaving the clan, ate away at her. Not to mention, he tried (and succedded) in taking Heathershade with him. Then leafkit leaves, and the two youngest cats in nightclan try to start a new clan. She starts to fight with sandpelt. Why was he so attached to their kits when all they did were break thier hearts? She still wanted to love them, but it was hard to love with a broken heart.
