Ilurv (2013-03-30 02:37:22)I tried, ok? I know they dont literally cry from grief...but...its supposed to be a fictional story...I'm trying...at least you know what the warrior series is...that means your human.

Ilurv (2013-04-01 22:32:24)No one was there to save her.
She allowed her mind to drift into darkness,
and she let go of the dying world around her.
~Angel
Whitetream kicked out with her hind legs until she felt them connect to a jaw line. Stripepelt gurgled below her, bubbles rushing past her head as he smilled and giggled, unaware of the fact that he couldn't breath.
He opened his mouth and motioned it as if talking. Whitestream thought she could make it out... And they dubbed me criminaly insane...
Creeped out, whitestream gave one final kick before agony washed over her. Everything hurt at once, her legs, her chest, her head. No air. Only freezing water that seemed to have no effect on her enemy.
How was she supposed to fight now...her opponent had the advantage on madness, and she was yet a normal cat...
You could give up... said a voice in the back of her mind. Let the darkness wash over you and give in...
and for a while, she agreed. She could let go...nobody would miss her much...another wave of pain, bringing fear with it, washed over her. but she was in peace.
She wasnt even deputy anymore... ... ... ...
...
...
...
Wait, why wasnt she deputy anymore?!
Whitestreams eyes shoot open. Stripepelt has now gotten a clawhold on her leg, but she ignores him, too weak to shake him off.
Why wasnt she deputy?! She had a family!
She kicked, shaking the weakened mad-cat off of her, then swam upwards in one motion.
Kits to care for...a mate!
She kicked harder, the surface nearer now.
A clan to feed, leaf-bare soon aproaching!
Once again she kicked, and she knew that she was almost there. She fed off the pain, welcomed it, let it fuel her to kick harder, to get back to the clan.
Her ears had just breched the surface when Whitestream tried to yelp, sucking in mouthfulls of water. Something had grabbed her, and it suprised a yelp out of her.
now there was no air left, only water, and Whitestream watched through a fading vision as something dragged her back down, down down down, into the abbys, away from the light and safety above.
Sandpelt felt uneasy. it wasnt like Whitestream to be out of camp this long, not to mention there was a murderer loose in the forest.
Nocat was in the nursery, and so the next thing Nightstar did was order a search patrol around the borders.
But Sandpelt had a bad feeling...no one was checking away from the borders? Convinced, he stood. Then he headed toward Nightstar, who was kneeling over the body of voleclaw.
"May starclan light your path to them...." he sighed.
"Nightstar...I'm sorry to interupt but...may I leave camp? I need to go alone...besides, there arent many warriors left in camp anyways, soooo..." Sandpelt said, leaving the rest unsaid.
Nightstar sighed. "Sandpelt. your a new warrior, made one only three moons ago. This camp needs you, and although I would rather you stay...just, go. be back soon." he finished.
"Thank you, Nightstar! I promise, I-I'll be back soon!" and with that he was off, leaving the grieving clan behind him.
As he neared the lake, Sandpelts uneasyness grew and grew.
when he reached it, he saw Windfeather sitting on the bank, staring horrified into the lake.
Whitetream kept hearing the chant...
And they dubbed me criminaly insane...
And they dubbed me criminaly insane...
And they dubbed me criminaly insane...
And they dubbed me criminaly insane...
She couldn't shake him off now, and her lungs screamed for air. It was over. She knew it.
she closed her eyes.
Sandpelt hauled Whitestream's body out of the lake, it was woterlogged, and heavy as crap, but he managed it.
She wasnt breathing.
Sandpelt wailed agony inside his mind, fear gripping his heart as he realized she could be dead...this was the end...
Whitestream was floating.
there was nothing around her but darkness.
It was comforting.
So comforting...
but then it felt wrong...
Messed up...
ThiS WasnT the End...She CoULdnT Die...
Starclan....was supposed to be here....so where where they...?

Ilurv (2013-04-04 22:19:02)"it is not your time...." said a voice in the distance.
whitstream opened her eyes with such force that she felt as if they would pop out.
"Your kits need you..."
"But..." she protested. "Its so comfortable here...in the dark, unaware..."
"yes, i know. But you must go. I've been here much longer than you...and I cannot be saved. There is still time for you, however." said that strange voice.
Whitestream frowned. "Who are you?" She called out into the shadows.
A figure stepped forward, a tall, lean cat, who suprisingly looked as if he was hald-coated in stars and half-black as the night. It was a tom cat, she realized, and it walked with pure seniority. It didn't look at her, which Whitestream found strange, until she looked up at his eyes. And she gasped.
The cat had one milky, white eye on his stary side, and had one corrupted one, spurting shadows, on his other.
"Believe it or not," he said, "my eyes killed me."
"Who...who are you...?!" Whitestream asked.
The tom-cat chuckled. "You have heard me in many of the nursery tales about the ancient clans...Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan and Sadowclan. I lived with my brother for most of my life." he said.
Whitestream gasped. "Th-the legendary...Jayfeather?!" she said, trying to stumble backwards but remembered she was seemingly floating in nothing.
"Yes, young warrior. I am Jayfeather."
Whitestream tried to feel afraid, shocked, andything, but tthe darkness got inside her brain and chased it all away.
"Listen to me. You have to go, now, while your heart still beats. Mine has long stopped, and now I am forever stuck in the Between." Jayfeather explained.
"But-"
"No buts! Go home, Whitestream. I may be part of Starclan, but half of me has rotted away like I did on Thunderclan territory!" Jayfeather exclaimed, jumping forwards to expose the rest of his body.
Nothing but rotting bones, brittle and thin, yet holding Jayfeather up.
This time, the fear rose in her throaght, too much for the darkness to stop, and she screamed, waking with a cough and spurting water.
It was daytime, the sun was out. Sandpelt crouched over her, and Windfeather cowered over her drowned fathers body.
Whitestream looked up, wishing for the darkness of the Between.
"Sandpelt...?"
THE END

Ilurv (2013-04-05 22:30:09)Jayfeather: location, The Between
Jayfeather paced back and forth, practicing his new skill.
He had only recently leaned to control the darkness of the Between and firm it until he could walk.
His pelt gave off the only light, but it didn't matter. He could only see shapes and blobs of light, thanks to the gifts Starclan promised him in death.
and then abandoned him here.
That was the reason he overthrew them, right? Created a new Starclan, after everycat had fadded away? Because he was angry. and the Between, the place where neardeath cats visit and never return, was his.
He was on his way to Starclan after a peaceful death in the elders den, when they stopped him, teling him they saw dark things in his future.
He pleaded and begged, the stairs to Starclan fading as did his life down below. but they wouldn't let him in.
Instead, the silver stairs dissapeared, and he fell downwards, sucked into a world of dark...and he could see.
Well, he could see shapes and blurs...not really actuall things...but close enough. He was in awe and excitement...did Starclan accept him after all?
...
And then he saw his pelt, half stars, half normal, as if he was only part starclan. And as his body grew older and rotted away, so did that half of his body. And he lost hope.
So one day, on a particularly anger-filled one, jayfeather released his power from the prophecy of the Three into the darkforest, giving them specific instructions to kill Starclan, all of it, and they obeyed without question.
Without their precious Starclan, Jayfeather watched the clans crumble and die.
and he was happy. Then came the many many moons that followed thier fall, and Jayfeather wished for somecat...anycat...to come and create a new clan.
then, it happened.
I'll spare you the details, but basically, Night became Nightstar and founded Nightclan, as did Freeze who became Freezestar and created Freezeclan. The only clan who didn't appease Jayfeather was Iceclan, founded by Ice. he started the clan alright, but his abandoning of the warrior code and traditional Warrior ways disgusted Jayfeather.
So he gave up part of his claimed land to be a new starclan, and like the land below him, it had also changed.
But the Dark, comforting, empty space of the Between was his, and his alone. So no one, not even a clan cat, was allowed in here.
Or so help him, he would tear the clans to pieces again.

Windfeather suddenly felt the wieght released from her chest. She knew that this was what death felt like...it was calm and peaceful...although her father promised pain...so, if this wasnt a painfull death...what was it...
Then she heard the battle noises. "Wait...a battle? In starclan? Or am I somewhere else..." Her heart beat faster and faster..."Oh, strclan...am I in the dark forest?" and then pain.
Whitestream paused, her paws aching, as Stripepelt stopped and licked his paws.
"Such a shame...kitten blood never comes off. Such a shame..." he said.
Whitestream used his distraction to glance at Windfeather. She was alive and breathing, but in shock. She would be ok...Crowfrost was the best medicene cat the clan had ever had, and she could surely take care of Windfeather. She wasnt dead. She wasnt...
A warm, firm body slammed into Whitestream, causing her to yowl in suprise, but she quickly regained her balance and countered with a swipe to the muzzle. Stripepelt seemed unfazed and continued to batter her head.
"Kitten blood stains you! Kitten blood stains you!" Stripepelt chanted, breaking off with a laugh and darting behind Whitestream in her confusion.
She couldnt see, Stripepelts many blows had disoriented her...but she couldnt let him know.
She stood tall, then, tail held high, simply walked away, up a hill overlooking the lake.
"Hey, Where are you going? I'm not done!! I wanna play some more!!!" Stripepelt wailed...kitlike. It chilled Whitesteam, and she felt a cold shiver slither down her spine.
She still cied out though, to taunt him, "Well, come on then!" She walked faster. "lets play..."
Stripepelt followed her up the hill, no, chased her is more like it. Soon, Whitestream had accelerated into a run, leading Stripepelt and his maniaccal laughter towards the cliff.
Windfeather heard the battle cries fade. What was...happening? She wasnt dead, but it hurt now...it hurt so bad! But she held in her mew. She wanted to cry out...to see if it would somehoe heal her. But she didnt.
She was vaguly aware of her father, the one who had killed her...he was chanting something about...blood? Was that why it hurt? Blood?
She was dead...right? No...she realized...she wasnt dead. She was very much alive. But why? Stripepelt had tried to rip her open...
Memories came rushing back, maddening eyes, a bloodied fathers paws, and frigid water engulphing her.
She lay there for a few more minutes, then rose, her paws feeling weak...then she coughed up the lake water and instantly felt ten times better.
Windfeather realized that there was noone in the clearing, yet she could have sworn...
Where was Stripepelt?
Whitestream hissed as she reached the top of the cliff, turning to meet her opponent there. She expected to see Stripepelt bounding at her, claws unsheathed and eyes blazing with madness, but he had dissapeared.
"Great," she huffed, "The insane have learned to think..."
She didnt finish the last word as a large, brown, striped body fell from the trees and landed on her hindquarters. REaring in suprise, Whitestream knocked the lower half of Stripepelt's body over the cliff.
Stripepelt hissed in fury, but yowled out and grabbed Whitestreams left hind leg. Whitestream, thinking it was over for one, sweet second, found herself tumbling over the edge with Stripepelt the very next.
Windfeather shook her head to clear it, then looked around the clearing. It was nothing but mossy rocks, scuffle marks...and pawprints! Bloody pawprints, but pawprints nontheless.
She stood and followed the trail of blood up a steep slope. Then she stopped as a yowl...painfully familiar...lit up the night.
Whitestream yowled in pain and fear for two seconds before it was cut off by the icy water sucking air from her lungs.
Windfeather heard a soft plop, felt a shiver, then limped over to the waters edge.
She waded in, but found she was in no condition to swim, let alone fight, in the water. She exited, breathed deeply, and watched for any sign of her best friend. The one that had just saved her life.
