Stripepelt could not rest. Because his memories of that day, the shadows of night could not envelope him in sleep, he was too distracted. He stood, deciding that this was enough.

Stripepelt exited the make-shift den, sniffing the air for prey. But his throught was dry.

He headed for a nearby stream, hoping to cool his aching heart, but knowing deep down inside it wasnt possible.

As stripepelt reached the stream, he leaned down to peer into the still water.

He saw his reflection.

He saw the tearstains.

He saw his daughter.

Stripepelt stood and abrutly left, suddenly a lot less thirsty than before.

Who was that cat he saw? Was it really him? Was that really what he had become?

Later, back at the makeshift den, Stripepelt began to pray to Starclan, even though he had long lost faith in them. He had nothing else to do.

"Starclan...hear me...please here me," he started, pausing to blaink away tears.

"I'm sorry. I...I dont know what I did to deserve live like this...in this way. Featherfoot, if your up there, h-hear me out. Give me a sign that your watching over our daughter, " he pauses as a slight rain begins to fall, "Please. I need to know shes safe," there is thunder, and the rain begins to penetrate the den. "Please, Featherfoot! Starclan, give me a sign!" When suddenly, a sharp wind battered the den, tearing away at the fabric.

Stripepelt went flying, scrambling to grab on to anything he could as the fiercce winds tore through his body, but failed and was sent upward.

Up and up he went, and he felt something between excitement and fear.

Stripepelt looked up to his destination, a large, swirling, black mass of clouds in the sky. and in that swirl, he saw the faces of the cats he'd left behind...Windkit, Blazestar, Sandpaw, Bluepaw, Nettlefoot, Moonshadow, Whitepaw...all cats he left behind because of his selfishness.

Stripepelt was sent hurling towards the ground. He tried to twist and land on his paws, but failed, reluting in a crack so loud that even the twister seemed to hear.

Stripepelt grimaced and limped away the best he could, Wind kicking up grit in his eyes, and finally found shelter in a giant, rotted tree root.

He would stay here for the night.

(To be continued...)

((Part 4))

Stripepelt woke with a jolt.
it was dark and quiet outside...and something didnt sit right in his stomach...something was wrong...

He left his safe hole beneath the root and began to wander back to the stream he saw earlier.

The water was freezing, but no matter, Stripepelt went in anyway.

The water was still, not flowing like he'd hoped, and he had to fight his way to the actuall rushing river it conected to.

No matter, he thought to himself, It will only make things easier...

By the time Stripepelt reached the raving river, he was exausted, his paws felt like lead and his stomach was gnawing away at this insides.

Oh well, its almost over anyways...

And then Stripepelt felt himself fall.

He didn't really wake up enough to realize the impact of his decision until the cold water came rushing at his face, up his nose and through his mouth, and then he realized what this meant... Oh starclan, am I commiting suicide?!?!

Stripepelt stood up abrutly, forcing himself to swim even on his tired, waterlogged paws.

he swam against the current, fearing where it would take him if he went with it.

Stripelt eventually gave up, noticing that swimming against the current was only makeing it worse.

He was going to drown. He knew it.

This was the end.

He closed his eyes,

and let the water

wash over him...

But then there was a meow, a faint, light, meow, desperate and sad, and stripepelt was resurfaced.

The sound made him think of Windkit, the strong, brave little girl he'd left behind, and he began to kick. He heard the cuond again, and kicked harder.

finally, finally, he reached the shore, and ther, in front if him, wasa a small, mewling, air-suckling silver kit.

And he began to cry.

More coming soon

(part 5 WARNING disturbing for some)

Stripepelt glared down at the silver kit. It lay there, helplessly, suckling the air and sending out pitiful mews of sadness.

Stripepelt's tears of hatred rolled down his checks, dropping into the sand near the kits tail.

Stripepelt lifted a paw, then gently placed it on the kits chest. The kit instantly stopped squirming, sniffing the newcomer intently and meowing in unhappiness.

"Quiet, little kit..." said stripepelt. "This time, I don't have to bring life here," he continued, pressing harder down on the kitten.

Noticing the danger, the kit begins crying out for it's mother, but stripepelt knew no-one was coming.

Stripepelt unsheathed his claws on his free front paw, balancing his Wight on both his hind legs and the silver kit at his mercy.

Smiling, stripepelt brought down a single claw, curved and ready, and sliced a cut on the kits face.

It wasn't large, and it wasnt deep, but it was his, and only he dare do something like this. The kits cry was earsplitting, such a young body being tormented like this, all it could do was cry out. Stripepelt didn't' like it's limited power.

Stripepelt sliced another cut down the kits side and reached inside with a claw. He sort of, just, dug around until he came onto something that hooked onto his claw.

He ripped.

Something inside of stripepelt awoke as the intestines of the kit spilled out onto the ground, coated with dirt and sand, blood pooling out around the tormented body.

The kit was losing strength, pain flared in his side, and he cried out feebly, the blood pouring out of him as the breath was squeezed from his lungs. Stripepelt watched with a curious grin painted on his face.

Stripepelt released the kit soon after. He thought of a way to kill it while getting the most pain out of it as ever.....so he gathered up some death berries and rolled them under his paw before, squish, they popped. Which gave him an idea.

He looked over at the kit. Alive, but nearly there. All he needed was a grand goodbye... ... ...stripepelt waltzed over to the kit, placing a paw on it's head.

All the kit could manage now was a weak cry in protest. Stripepelt bent down, not wanting the fun to end, and chewed the kits ear until it came off, bloodied, in his mouth. He spat it out as the kit tried to wriggle free, but it lacked the strength and mobility.

Stripepelt started rolling the kits head, the juice from the squished berries sting the bloody stump of the kit that used to be his ear.

Now, the kit was ready to die. It couldn't be more ready for death. At least, thats what stripepelt told himself. Then, he put both paws on top of the kits head and pushed with all his might, causing the weak skull to crack, and kit brain to coast the bloody ground.

Kit blood stained stripepelts paws, and he instantly thought, when...when can I do this again?!

He stepped off of the bloody mess, not bothering to wipe his paws. He sat there for a second, pondering about what he was to do now,

Suddenly, footsteps were heard, and stripepelt melted into the shadows to hideamong the ferns.

A cat, fur outlined in stars, stepped out, sniffing the carcass and shaking it's head dissaprovingly.

[I] This soul cannot be saved...it was ravaged by another...[I] said the cat.

Stripepelt silver, ply sniffed, waiting for the cat to shimmer away like mist before calmly licking the blood off his paws. Mind you, he DID check to see if there was any poised left. There wasn't.

Stripepelt continued licking the blood, and enjoying it, too.

Then, an Idea struck him...he wanted nothing more in the world than to do that again...but...what if he used a...larger cat? Would it last him longer?

And then another brilliant idea entered his brain...what if he could find a way for windpaw to be with Fatherhood forever? And he as well?! All there thoughts rushed through his head as he licked the kitten blood from his paws, and it was then he realized that kitten blood stains fur...
